One word -rhinocort.

Two words. Rebound effect.

Y'all can't be taking pills an potions and sprays forever. ( well I do but not for nose stuff) They have unwanted side effects. Get Allergy tested- then avoid those positives.
Salt water rinses. They do work over time. Buy a Netti Pot if you don't live near an ocean, Get Sterimar for travelling.
See an ENT to rule out infections and need for drainage.

Hosehead it may not be ideal to be on chronic medication but i assure you that living for 35 years with asthma and rhinitis is debilitating. Rhinocort changed my life, no exaggeration. I'll happily accept any side effects although i haven't noticed any after several years of daily use.

Some people believe in medication, some don't. I'm simply offering an option that works for me.

BTW def see an ENT like you suggest.

not a lot :/.. i was on Fexo as well

this worked great for some time but red eyes and runny nose started..not much though!

Did you use the 180? 30 in a pack, works better and longer than the 120 (10 in a pack)

plus Fexo is so expensive

Its only R200-R220 per month. Has stayed at that price range for the last 4 years (I know, I buy every month cash). Its in no way that expensive when considering its about improving your quality of life.

yeesh. dont mess yourself up with constant prednisone tablets. on the plus side you could use telfast/fexo 180mg twice daily when it is really bad (without it possibly giving you any cardiac adverse effects) otherwise try xyzal for a while. have you tried flixonase nasules (NOT the spray)? (gold standard treatment = oral antihistamine and nasal cortisone). Have you seen an ENT? maybe they could do a FESS to drain all the gunk. avoid allergens as far as possible - but kinda near impossible when it is something like dust mites.

I would really see an ENT or even an allergologist- not ask for medical advice on an IT forum - some of the 'medical advice' in this subsection of the forum is borderline terrible.

Allergy injection. Ask your doctor t lasts 3 months. Or one texa 10 a day.

Bath in rooibos tea ( 8-10 bags in a bath ) use annique rooibos soap.

As for asthma... Exercise. The healthier your lungs get the longer the asthma stays away.

Do you have carpets in your house? Are they old? Do you have pets? I am allergic to the hair from short-haired pets. Kills me. Since my parents put tiles in the lounge at home, it is a hundred times better when I go visit. Plus you start to notice how much hair actually falls off an animal in a day

My wife keeps one of these running at all time in our lounge and bed room:

http://www.rabbitair.com/minusa2-asthma-and-allergy-friendly-edition-air-purifier.aspx

It really made a big difference - it basically sucks all the crap out of the air in your room.

Also, if you already have or plan to get central air conditioning/heating, you can hook up the intake vent with a high quality electrostatic filter (like this one) that will remove allergens from the air. Keep it running 24/7 (there is usually a "fan only" mode, when you don't want to waste power on heating or cooling).

Yeah, they are fairly effective. The one I listed will spin up automatically if I open a window because it detects particles in the air. Be careful of cheap knock offs - you don't want an "air ionizer" or "filter X" - you really want some sort of Hepa filter in there at the minimum. BTW, there are also vacuum cleaners also come with Hepa filters that will reduce the amount of dust kicked about when cleaning.

Also consider that an Air Purifier may be helping the dust etc, but it can't fix the source of the problem. If sinusitis becomes regular, then get your carpets professionally cleaned imo.
