Having car serviced/repaired at dealer: Not always a pleasant experience

My Car Service City experience sucks.

I'd rather pay half the price for something that sucks than full price. Not much wrong with it. Still runs fine so just the usual oil, belt, filter etc change.

Last time the car went in it was for some kind of literal hickup. Ended up fumes or something settled in the gearbox. They charged over R1000 to fix it even though it was still under warrantee and couldn't guarantee the gearbox didn't suffer damage. How the heck does a semi sealed unit become dirty and then give no further problems after being fixed unless there's a manufacturing fault?
