Healthy eyes: What to do and or take?

How do you keep your eyes healthy?
Do you take stuff?
Do you do exercises?

Any suggestions would be welcome :)

Thanks.

Go see an optometrist and get some glasses for reading/pc/driving (if you don't wear already).

/bookmarks.

Usually use eye-drops when I get home as my eyes are a little irritated and dry after working at a PC all day.
Been having itchy eyes as of late though. Really hope it isn't pink eye..
Get your glasses checked out often and maybe use Gunmars for gaming. Not your usual work glasses

That comes across as though it's a must? Is it?

Last time I went to an optometrist they said I needed glasses. I said hell no and decided that's the last time I'm going to an optometrist.

Apparently lutein and zeaxanthin may be beneficial in preventing the formation of cataracts and retina deterioration.

Bausch and Lomb make an eye multivitamin containing letein called Ocuvite which might be worth investigating.

If you are developing cataracts I would try one of those N-acetylcarnosine based eyedrops before considering any kind of surgery.

I have glasses I specifically use with a computer. I'm just curious of there is more like exercises, diet, food, vitamins etc.

It's not a must, more preventative maintenance than anything else.

Ah. Hence my optometrist remark - I went seeking advice as I felt staring at a PC screen the whole day wasn't going to end well. I got told I need to wear glasses all the time yet I didn't (and still don't) have a problem with my sight. Got the feeling that I was just being sold something for the sake of it rather than getting proper advice.

There a bunch of things that can happen to your eyes, if you work on a pc then you are more susceptible to some.
Every hour you should look up from your screen and focus on object of varied distances from where you are sitting.
When you stare at a screen then your Ciliary muscles tend to lock at a point because your focus doesnt change much, looking at other objects gets them moving again.
Another symptom of prolonged pc use is that you dont blink as often which can cause drying out of the eyes. A good prescription lubricant helps quite a bit with that.
I use Optive lubricating drops every few hours on my pc and they do help quite a bit.
