Agreed, but how established are Cool Ideas and Rocketnet? I had never heard of them until now. Can their infrastructure handle all the new sign-up?.
I suppose when I joined them that's how I felt but I don't regret the decision. I love dealing with small companies as I get personal attention. Enjoyed previously working with Bitco.

Business has been going for around 5 years. And we scale the capacity as we need to. So no issue with lots of signups. :)

Thanks for the replies Guy's. @PBCool and @Ronald-RocketNet, what are your FUP's like? I can't find the info on your websites. Also do I sign-up on the vuma site or on your individual sites for the fastest turnaround.

Thanks for the info, in advance.

Hey there, we don’t have any FUP at all. You will need to signup on Vuma first and then complete our online contract on our website at www.rocketnet.co.za/sign-up

You signup on both, first Vumatel for the line installation they should then call you with an installation date. We then courier you a router. We don't have any FUP, use as much as you like.

Yesterday I completed trenching and conduit on my property to expedite things with Britelink.

Prep work and laying everything out

Not forgetting the all important draw wire

Would have sucked if Vumatel hit that water pipe

From my lawn through to my neighbour

I ran conduit all the way to the street light pole with the fibre point

The trench was only 1ft or so deep due to tree roots

From here the fibre will hop to my driveway conduit

Tomorrow Britelink are back so here’s hoping that everything runs according to plan.

My new network is ready for fibre on WAN1

My Huawei E5186 LTE router will be doing duty as failover on WAN2.

Fairly simple and nothing too fancy. All while being tucked away in my study cupboard. There’s a space on the far right that is reserved for the Huawei ONT.

RocketNet have provided my username and password so that’s also ready.

Well, it seems that yesterday morning's fix that Vumatel did for our area definitely made a big difference. I did a bit of a stress test last night and it passed, not one slowdown from what I could see. The speedtest even seems a bit better in off peak time:

I think I need to rebooy my ONT getting 10megs speeds on my line...

Good job on taking the initiative!
Just note that if someone trenches the street again there is a good chance they will hit your conduit. Obviously the wayleaves process is to note services in the ground and for future contractors to avoid.

And what's the conduit for to your neighbor?

Looks like one of the poles got taken out by a car near the Ouklip/Wilgeroodt intersection.
