Helen Zille suspends IRR fellowship as she vies for powerful DA Federal Council chairperson post

Former DA leader and Western Cape premier Helen Zille has suspended her fellowship with the Institute of Race Relations (IRR) following her decision to join the contest for the position of chair of the party's federal council.

The IRR said in a statement on Friday that Zille had voluntarily suspended her position as a senior policy fellow "in accordance with the IRR's employment rules".

I saw this earlier and I am happy that she may return. I only hope that when she engage with the public that it would be through practising proper policy than having Twitter debates.

She can use her new, /cough, Renaldo show, Tea with Helen, or whatever it is called, to engage with people who are representative.

Zille will do good at chairing the Federal Council.

Mmusi should resign if she's elected. The federal council have been the power during his tenure yet he takes all the heat. Plus Zille's defense of that IRR guy who was punting Winde bodes ill for any future relationship.
