Help! cant send mail - slooooow uploads!

I need to send an urgent mail, my dsl is off after telkom worked on someone elses line last week thursday and is taking their time to come out to fix it...

anyone else having this problem in Bellville area(s) ?

yep, just tested again. used internetVPN this time, no difference. When I run the test the download part is lightning fast but as soos as the upload has to start the page takes forever to complete 'Sending request to Speed.Vodacom.co.za'.

This site as well takes a while to respond when i try to open a page and then it downloads the site quick. (while = a minute or so before starting to dl) I just had a fine connection an hour ago when i sent the same mail, but the recipient needs it at another address and now its slow. Tried uploading to Hotmail, Vodamail and then tried speed test. they are all slow atm.

My exact location is Ridgeworth bellville (Near tygervalley)

Reboot and now:

DL - 603kbps (tried twice)
UL - 252kbps (first try was 90kbps)

edit:
At least i can send the mail now. What I noticed when i had probs was:

Before upload
Pings to speed.vodacom was 170ms
Connection type on dashboard Vodacom 3G

while upload:
pings to speed.vodacom was 500ms, connection type Vodacom HSDPA ***THEN***
pings went up to 3000ms connections withced to Vodacom 3g, then back to 500ms and back to hsdpa etc etc every few seconds

I am having problems in the Krugersdorp area with very unreliable connections for the last 2 weeks. I am using a 3G router and card and tried everything but still the following is happening:

On HSPDA preferred: Will connect to HSPDA and indicate a GOOD signal, cannot connect, then the signal indicator drop to No Signal, After a minute or two, again indicating a Good signal and this repeats. Sometimes it is possible to connect (20 minutes a day) but normally no connection at all.

On only GPRS, get excellent connection indication but it is slower than using a 9600 dialup modem.

I had excellent HSPDA service for the last 18 months with the router and the external Poynting antenna. Just now all the struggles for the last 2 weeks. Who must I contact in Vodacom to ensure that they check out the tower on the corner of Robert Broom and the Road to Hekpoort in Munsieville, Krugersdorp as I believe this is the tower that I am connecting to? I am sure that the problem is with this tower as my father living 500m away from me is experiencing exactly the same problems.

Is it also possible to check when the HSPDA service will be active on the Beckendam tower?
