Hi people of myBB :)

My dad recently wanted to duplicate his www.***.co.za with a www.***.co.bw, to be more visible on www.google.co.bw as he wants to do more business via Botswana, though with the exact same wordpress (excuse the use of WP I am no professional) setup and seo he is not visible at all on www.google.co.bw

Could this be googlebot having an issue with duplicates? or maybe poor seo?

On google.co.za he is on page 1 of said keywords.

Any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated.

You said "recently"... did you give Google time to index and have it climb the rankings organically? Or are you one of those..............

Yes recently being at least 60 days of being active.

Try this: http://www.thesitewizard.com/domain/point-multiple-domains-one-website.shtml ? First hit on google. I haven't done it before but the guide walks you through it.

Will have a look through the guide now and see, Thanks mate.

You'll need to log into Search Console (Google's webmaster tools) and complete a URL change
Make sure that after requesting a site change that you put a redirect from the old site to the new site.

Thing is the old site .co.za is the main site and is ranked on google.co.za, my dad wanted to dupe that with a botswana domain in hope of getting more business via google.co.bw if that makes sense.

Thanks for the help <3

OK the solutions the others are giving does seem to seem to differ from my interpretation of your question. You want to make a carbon copy of the .co.za website and host it on the .co.bw suffix. In other words have two websites/domains containing the exact same content. I would think that is duplicate content and you probably won't get the results you are looking for. I personally would translate the Botswana site to Setswana and offer a link to the English (.co.za) version. Although I'm not sure how people current get to the site, and which search terms (and language) they use (main search terms of product/service name).

Firstly, nothing wrong with using Worpdress. Millions of other businesses use it too and I know some pretty hardcore devs that swear by it as a simple solution to getting a site up.

Have you thought about pointing the co.bw domain to the same site, but to a different landing page for botwana traffic and then let google index as normal? What I'm suggesting is that for co.za you have one landing page, and for co.bw you have a different one? They could be exact replicas of each other and share the remaining site pages, but the landing page for each domain is optimized for the traffic it would receive.

Don't forget about checking Google webmaster tools, and try to do something to get / verify a physical presence in Botswana. The footer of the landing page is particularly import for SEO because this is where we generally refer to location of the business.
