Well, some good news for me: the blood tests and Xray confirm that I do not have gout. My uric acid is below 0.1, which apparently is now too low.

The diagnosis (for now) is Reactive Arthistis, most likely caused by my gut floral imbalance (another long story).

For now the treatment will be 7 days of cortisone for the pain and 60 days of Plasmoquine as an anti-rheumatoid.

We will then re-assess after 3 months.

Well, we already eat meat, although not a lot of it.

Chicken, Beef, once a week, bacon twice a week, the rest of the time it's pasta, pizza, or curry
Carnivore diet is just meat and nothing else.

Seriously cut down on the gluten.

Btw. I'm not a medical doctor, just a random person on the internet.

Absolutely fcked tonight, I've been awake since yesterday.

Lol @ Carnivore diet.

Foods that commonly trigger gout attacks include organ meats, red meats, seafood, alcohol and beer. They contain a moderate-to-high amount of purines ( 11 , 12 ). However, there is one exception to this rule. Research shows that high-purine vegetables do not trigger gout attacks

That's outdated and only when combined with a "balanced diet".

The carnivore diet should work.

Ah I remember the days I thought gout was something really old people got, and I laughed at mates that had it.
Then I laughed at mates when they told me how sore it was.
Then I got it.
I'm not laughing any more, and anyone that gets it has my full sympathies.

That's how I feel.

I'm a chronic one, dad, granddad, great grandfather etc.

We should start a Gouters Support Club, meet once a month for a braai since we all share hell together, in our seperate ways.

I cannot sleep, worst attack I've had in my life so far.

Fml I'm not looking forward to the future knowing how this ends.

Sounds awful. Are you doing all the steps? Medication, elevate, cool?

Take your medication.
Drink a lot of water.
Attend to everything you need to do while still up, so that you can lie down soon, and stay lying down, as long as possible.
If you have an office chair on wheels, park it near the bed, so when you get up again, you can roll with your good foot.
Put a bucket near your bed so you can pee without getting up.
Get ice and a towel. If you have no ice, get a bowl of water and cloths.
Gather a bunch of pillows or blankets and build a protective tower of padding for your foot, (high enough so you will be able to elevate your foot once you lie down).
Put the towel inside that fort, as the base.
If you have an electric fan that you can direct, position that near the foot of your bed. Make sure you have the control (cable, plug, switch) near you.
Okay, everything assembled?
Drink more water.

Sit down, and put your foot inside the fort. If you can bear it, apply the ice (the towel will catch the drops). Or test to see if you can endure a wet, cool cloth on the skin (or some drops of water).
Lie back.
Try out the fan. Perhaps the air will cool the wet skin down a bit.
Afterwards, if you find you need to keep warm, after all, drape a blanket over the top of the fort, so that it cannot touch your foot.
Try to keep your foot up, so stay in bed for as long as you can manage it.

I hope you soon get relief!

What triggers yours? My neighbour reckons his is too much protein.
Another friend reckons this stuff regularly helps

Jirre....I'd rather have gout than go through all that drama.

2 x Myprodol
2 x Cataflam D
5 x Prednisone

Gout 80% better in about an hour.
Gone the next morning
