If you want rock stable FAST and best battery life, go for CheckRom V6. Its gingerbread though. Im using it for majority of my S2 life now. Im probably gonna get flamed like hell but ICS is simply NOT on par with this ROM in terms of stability, battery life. It just works, crash free. Scrolling is awesome. Also lots of customizations available.

If you really want to go ICS, there are options that stand out like Resurrection ROM, Wanamlight, Lite-ning ROM. Use them by all means if you want to be a beta tester and update the rom every few days.

Jeez and no one mentions Cyanogenmod 9...this ROM with the Fluxi XX.01 Kernel is awesome. Much faster than Siyahs kernel and Stock CM9 kernel.

BTW - " Hydrogen ICS ROM - the latest one has really good battery performance and is really quick " Hydrogen is not being developed any more ;)

Unfortunately you will be waiting a very long time till you see a stable release. I personally feel that the current release is pretty stable and is good for everyday use. Why wait...been using this for ages already...well 3months

There is an ICS version of CheckRom. Personally, I have't had any issues with the ICS ROM's I have used.

I would recommend the FoxHound ROM. Allows you to choose your kernel, theme, even a list of preinstalled apps. I get close to 2 days of battery life from it with medium usage.

There is no ICS CheckROM.
There is an ICS kernel by the CheckROM team, but not an ICS ROM.
