With the case open both GPUs are at 56 deg C idle ...

With the case closed GPU 1 is 57 deg C

While GPU 2 is 54 deg C (yeah it dropped)... (temps from the Nvidia control panel)

Some airflow pro please help me improve the airflow in my PC...
GPUs are 7800GTX's and the case is the ANTEC P180 ...

Oh and the two fans with the arrows are both blowing air out of the case ... front of the case has vents that are open

1: close those 2 open black plates.
2: get a nice 14cm fan and mount next to your 2 GFX cards that will force cooler air onto the cards
3: if you have a desktop case .. mount it over your 2 GFx cards

Howabout buying some compressed air for R80 and cleaning out some of that dust that's starting to form a blanket on your components?

Does your case have an intake fan in front? That would cool the cards. I would leave a slot open if you do, to allow the air to flow out again.

i wouldnt close those backplates just going to keep the hot air in

you seem to have to much sucking out

try mod the side of your case with a 2000 rpm fan blowing air in

at the moment you have air sucking out but nothing coming

yeah was intending to ... where can i buy this from ... also seen some dust detroyer type spray for PCs .... also aerosol ... is that any good?

see the front has a vent and the idea i had in mind was for the fans at the back to pull air from that front vent... so all the components get cooled

bit OT but this is how i sorted out my circulation problems... might not be the prettiest but it works, well. 2*120mm sucking warm air out and a exhaust fan under the GFX cards. Then a 12 INCH box fan blowing (ALOT) of cool air in.

ppl said this wouldnt work.

bt, gpu temp dropped 6 deg, no more artifacts...

you need to have the same amount of air flowing out as you do in or you are creating a "negative pressure" inside the case where the warm air sitsif it is the same airflow it will be alot more efficient

Its funny this topic came up because i'm having a nightmare with cooling atm.

I've Prescott is running 52 deg idle, 66 playing NFS.
I've got two front intake vans 2000rpm's, blowing over hard drives to keep them cool as they get DAMN hot, i've got two 2000rpm fans extracting heat at the rear. I've followed several guides online about sealing extra holes etc to direct air - didnt make much of a difference.

I've now purchased 2x Vantec Vortex Hard Drive coolers for my SATA drives as i think its adding to the case heat. I've also purchased a Zalman CNPS9500LED for my cpu because i'm tired of having a HUGE powerful fan next to my computer case thats standing open and hardly making a dent with cooling.

Durban being as hot as it is atm is ofcourse not helping, and YES i have made sure there is enough heatpaste on this thing. Apparently Prescott's run hot, exactly why the Zalman was so highly recommended!.
