Good morning MyBB ppl! I've recently installed mac osx snow leopard hackint0sh on my netbook to try it out, and see how everything works before I buy a proper mac. Now, I need to get my 3g usb modem working. I've downloaded the latest 'Vodafone Mobile Broadband' software, and it detected my device. I could even click on the 'Prepay balance' button and it returned the correct balance, but when I click on the connect button, I get a 'Your connection failed bacause of an incorrect PPP setting. Verify your settings and try reconnecting' message.

Can anybody perhaps shed some light on this? I'm virgin in this territory. :erm:

'Your connection failed bacause of an incorrect PPP setting. Verify your settings and try reconnecting'

Translated into "Your connection failed bacause of an incorrect OS, Try using Linux"

:D

/Not trying to start a OS war here, just making a joke

I found that installing the software on the USB device is the worst thing you can possibly do. Even the brand new (K3765-Z) one I bought in December had software on that pre-dates Snow Leopard by about a year. Go to Vodaphone's software and download their newest software.

I repeate, do *not* install the vodaphone 2.x software that comes with the device.

Ok, I did install it initially, but removed it. Will there still be traces of it strewn around? Do I have to reinstall OS?

I don't know, I haven't done it on Snow Leopard. But on Leopard, as soon as I installed it, none of my PPC applications worked anymore (I still have a few around). Un-installing it didn't help. You may be more fortunate.
