Help on purchase of a Receiver / Amplifier

I bought a surround sound system, but require some information pertaining to the selection (what to look for) in a amplifier. Can you guys recommend reputable websites to make some selections. I ‘m looking at the following brands Sony, Yahama, NAD. Value for buck deals

Current system include:

Samsung 530 40’’LCD TV
Samsung Blu Ray Disk Player BDP1600
Sony Video VCR SLV-ED10
Phillips DVD DVP3258 DIVX USB
JBL Subwoofer SUB125

180w front speaker

Already, you'll need a receiver with an HDMI input for your BD player and one to your TV. Since I am a huge Yamaha fan when it comes to their receivers, I'd opt for the Yamaha RX-V663. I cannot seem to find a price in ZAR online, but heard it is good bang for the buck. The only problem I have with is that it only has 2 HDMI inputs. I want 4 at least.

I've had my Yamaha RX-V795a for nearly 10 years now and still chuffed with it. The sound from a Yamaha receiver is superb!

Think you need to look beyond those 3 brands...
Can I suggest whathifi.com? Or just buy the magazine.

What is your budget though? The brands you mentioned may start at R5,000.00 - but have models inbetween and reaching R50,000.00.

Guys, thanks for the advice.

Would have preferred the Yamaha RX-V665, but believe this is currently not available in South Africa (I would like to confirm this.)
I 've purchased the RX-V565 AV Receiver (HDMI) from Audio Vision instead for R 5 000.00
This retails for R 6 660.00, but discount are offered.
The previous model RX-V563 is currently running at Tafelberg Meubels for R 4 950.00

Please confirm what cables you recommend for my system: Monster cable, flex cable, mm size, etc. Any advice on preferred connection method will be appreciated.
