Yak, I gave you the details - they know about the card. You can take it in and they i'll have all the details you need from my side. I dont really want to have anything more to do with the Card, but i need to provide support for the products i sold - so if you have any problems get Caryn to E-mail me.

And Brian, I told you, I don't have time to go there - I work for a living! Hence the question whether there was someone IN JHB that could help me!

Whether you want to have anything to do with it or not, you are responsible for what you sold me - it's called "after sales service". Mind you, I haven't had any of that yet, so why should it be different now?

Also, the fact that you promised me that you would get someone to come and pick the card up and bring me a replacement and then just suddenly changed your mind about it, is nonsense as well!

But then, that's what we've become used to from DOT Computers, now isn't it?

I send You a e-mail, but already found what I did not know on your web site. I am on the opposite side of your world, Eastrand, so its pointless in me getting involved from here, unless you need convincing powers? :). My advise, call this Carol chic, find out if she is on level with the issue as the other person claims, if so, arrange with her and overnight her the card, R30.00 max, its quick and secure, let her do her thing and let her send it back to You! I am sure she will accommodate You! If transport is still your issue, hire a Taxi! Did person refund the whole card (Thus free) or only the R1000 difference in price. If you got the card now for free it is now your problem entirely. To be fair against the other person: If you still paid a portion then the other person is still responsible for the card exchange as per normal waranty issues, no damage or fidling! but remember not one supplier will collect and return the purchased items or card, that is your problem. You have to take it to their premises. If the other person promised, well we all know what that means, but we are all guilty of not keeping promises, some just more than others! So then I am sorry to say it is your responsibility. If you want it so badly resolved, do the in thing, resolve your problem! Its not the other persons problem as long as you got your dues!

heheheh, well, I work HARD for a living and don't have much free time during the day to travel all the way to Midrand. I'll mail it to them then, I guess

pupa: I was refunded the full amount, but the point is that Brian told me he would get it picked up and the new card delivered, and then went back on his word. It just turns out that his word is not worth much...

Let me get this straight - you got the card AND the money, so it is effectively a freebie, and now you want this Brian to collect the now-bust free card and get it replaced at his expense? Or for someone else to take time off their work to sort your problem out?

Does not compute!

@JFJ, when you say it like that it does sound odd.
There is quite a bit of history behind this. I don't know if you read the dotcomputers threads at all???
pupa has relevant rationale behind his post, which is more accurate

Gents... you don't seem to get the fact that I said that that's what I will do... am I not making that clear enough?

The additional point that I was making was that I was told originally that the card would be picked up and replaced. It wasn't my request, it was Brian's offer. But that "promise" just dissapeared. That's completely irrelevant to the fact that I AM going to get the card replaced myself, there's no question about that - I've accepted the fact that Brian isn't going to do it, eventhough he told me he would, so that's not an issue.

My question was simply whether there was someone in the Johannesburg area that is a reseller for Legend and could help me so that I wouldn't have to drive all the way to Midrand.

Kapish?

So put the pitchforks away and relax... ;)

Excuse me?! Your "offer" evaporated into thin air LOOOONG before this whole discussion started and I have the emails to prove it, so don't give me that nonsense.

You have done NOTHING to sort this whole thing out Brian - nothing but the bare necessities to keep your arse out of jail (which remains to be seen), so you are the last one to talk!

Besides, it shouldn't be whether you "feel like" helping me - I was your customer, it was your duty to do it, as you promised me you would...

Anyway, forget about it - your "service" is non-existant! I'll take care of it myself - just like I've had to spoonfeed you through this whole debacle...

This conversation, as far as I'm concerned, is over. Thanks to the people that offered to help me. I got what I asked for.
