Help unlock iPhone 6 Sprint Mobile bought in the USA

Hi there guys
I was in the USA recently for 4 months and the company gave me an iPhone 6 on sprint network

It worked perfectly only until returned back to South Africa than it stopped working and now does not even go past the boot screen when I switch it on with my Vodacom sim

Please some one help me unlock it

Hi you will have to jailbreak the unit , ask the guys who are familiar with the process to assist you

That won't help either.
Best bet is to call Sprint and ask them for the unlock code, which they will charge you for.

Jailbreak won't unlock it.

You need to buy an unlock, there are many sellers on Ebay that do it for you. Takes about a day to process.

I have called sprint and they are messing me around being speaking to multiple consultants and various people who have promised to put my request forward

Than eBay. Lots of sellers on there doing it. As above, takes a day or two to process.

No, you need to use an online provider that can put your IMEI into the Sprint database. Like everyone else have said, there are many providers on ebay that do this for around R500.

As far as I'm concerned, the issue is not with it being locked... The phone should still work without a SIM

I have checked on eBay nothing under R1000
There was one person but seemed a bit dodgy at R789

Doubt there is truth to the post about the wireless carrier sending you in circles.

iPhones operate with what's called an Activation Policy.

For those talking about unlock codes. This applies to other manufacturers and not Apple.

You request for your iPhone to be unlocked via a wireless carrier. The wireless carrier then forwards the relevant request to Apple. It should take 48-72 hours for unlock to be approved. You then need to restore or erase all content & settings on the iPhone to apply the new unlocked activation policy.

General Eligibility for Unlocking
Sprint Prepaid will unlock a device (i.e., provide the MSL Code and/or perform a domestic SIM unlock (DSU)) under the following circumstances:

The device has not been reported as lost or stolen or otherwise flagged as ineligible to be unlocked
The device has been active on the associated account for at least 12 months with the account active at that time

For prepaid phones you need to be 12 months on their network first.

You have enough info to unlock the phone via the trusted Ebay sellers, why this hasn't happened yet I don't know.
