Thousands of South Africans have performed speed tests using the MyBroadband Speed Test App in recent months, covering large parts of the country.

We now want to ensure we cover as much of the country as possible, and we need your help.

If you perform a speed test using the MyBroadband Speed Test App at home, at work, or in areas which you visit, it will provide us with great network performance information.

Even better news is that we are giving away R10,000 cash as an incentive to test.

To enter the R10,000 giveaway, here is what you must do:

• Download the MyBroadband Android Speed Test App / iPhone Speed Test App
• Perform a speed test using the App on your mobile network (not Wi-Fi – these results do not count towards the giveaway).
• Post your download speed, location, and network operator in the forum here.
• You can enter as many times as you like, but each entry should be from a different location (one entry per location).

Please note that mobile data used for speed tests on your mobile network will count towards your monthly usage allowance – and these speed tests can use a lot of data when testing a high-speed network.

MTN has zero-rated the MyBroadband Speed Test App, however, which means MTN subscribers will not be charged for data used when running speed tests.

The giveaway winners will be selected and announced on 8 December 2017.
