Hi all

I need some help:

I recently switched hosting companies and I'm having a FTP problem with the new host:

I have one folder on my website in which there are 8000+ files.
They are ALL jpg files, but it is necessary to have them all in 1 folder for the database to function effectively.

Currently, the ftp server is truncating matches to display only the first 2000 (of the 8000+) entries. At most I can separate these into 2 folders – but they would still contain at least 4000-4500 files each. So, even if I were to create 2 folders, they would still not display all the files in the folder.

The reason I need to be able to view all of these files in my ftp program is to be able to add/remove hundreds of files per month and this would not be possible without me being able to view ALL the files in the folder. I have tried Filezilla and WS_FTP Pro and both programs indicate that it is a setting on the server.

Currently, my FTP programs only display the first 1998 files in the folder, and theres no way of looking at the other 6000. (If I browse directly to the jpg files, it opens up.. so they are definitely in that folder)

The website functions properly, it's just the FTP browsing option ...

Help someone?

oh yeah -> heres a short log from Filezilla:

Response: 200 PORT command successful
Command: TYPE A
Response: 200 TYPE is now ASCII
Command: LIST -a
Response: 150 Connecting to port 3124
Response: 226-Options: -a -l
Response: 226 Output truncated to 2000 matches
Status: Directory listing successful
Command: REST 0

WS_FTP - Output truncated to 2000 matches

Question/Problem: I get a message, "output truncated to 2000 matches" and WS_FTP stops transferring any more files.

Answer/Solution: This is a server limitation. You will need to contact the host of your server to see if this option can be changed.
