Hello all :)

So I have ADSL for a week now and all's lekker. Speeds on Rapidshare @ a constant 4meg and I'm happy :). Only problem well difficulty is that the previous sites I could access are giving a 403 forbidden message or a message advising that my IP address is already dloading or that there's no more available slots for my country, etc, etc. Those sites I could access on my previous Neoconnect Prime package so it's definetly not a site error. My only option is to purchase a VPN account.

I've searched the forums and I cannot find any thread providing some info on VPN's. Free ones are unreliable or I'm really a noob on how to configure or setup the bloody thing. Would VM Ware assist in assigning a different IP via NAT? Not sure as networking is alien to me  I have a D-Link DSL 2640U modem on a 4meg uncapped account from Mweb.

I would really appreciate some help and guidance from you experts.

Thank you in advance :)

No. NAT will masquerate all the local (LAN) IP addresses with that single public IP address.

Only way that you'll get a different IP address is if you dial another account, or you might get lucky if you switch your router off for an hour or so.

Thanks Pada, looks like I have to buy a VPN account.

Another option is to get yourself a VPS, I use www.intovps.com their starter package is $10 per month, then create a SSH connection and setting a it to allow dynamic connections via port 1080 on your local machine, then set your IE / Firefox client to use socks port 1080 on ip 127.0.0.1, your connections will then be tunneled across to your VPS and appear on the internet as from your VPS's IP address. I use Firefox with the FoxyProxy addon it allows me to use the proxy/socks server automatically for certain sites and not for others.

If you run linux the command to create the tunnel is

If you run Windows, use Putty and set the SSH option to Dynamic on port 1080
