Help with lens please

Yo guys, I'm looking for a lens on a budget, very limited funds. I've been offered a Sigma 24-70 F2.8 EX DG for R3500. The price seems good, but I'm having trouble finding many reviews for it. Does anyone have any experience with this lens? I'm starting to assist with wedding, looking to graduate to second shooter, but for now will be used mainly as a portrait lens for low-light (when I'm not using the nifty).

I had one until recently and was very pleased with it. Are you referring to the HSM or the Macro version?

Apparently the HSM has better quality glass elements than the Macro. Also, new the Macro version is just under 5K from CameraQuip.

Thanks dude, don't think it is the HSM version, will give him a call to confirm. Why'd you get rid of yours?

If CameraQuip has it for R5000, I'll request a price drop, I already bargained with him, he wanted R4500 to begin with...

The store works differently to most, you order and pay and they then get it from Japan. They have received good reviews on ODP so definitely a legit store.

Got a 40D and a 70-200 F/2.8 and a 50mm F/1.4 on the way.

Just need the 24-70 now...
