Hi,

Is there a kind soul out there who is willing to help me setup my router again? It's the outdoors router which looks like a cone.

All was working well (lights were good, signal was good) just had issues on the final steps (no internet but it was connecting to Rain, could ping 8.8.8.8 with good response time), did a factory reset and now the lights are flashing and I've gone to square -1 (no rain connection)

SIM card activated.

If someone out there is willing to give me some of their time I would be very grateful indeed. I think I need to compare my settings with a working modem.

Hi Neil ,

Honestly you shouldn't have to do anything , Your suppose to unbox it ,Turn it on , connect to it, and it should work .
In fact no one is suppose to be fiddling with internal antennae , and doing all sorts of "Spoeg and Plak" to make it work.
I'm in the same boat and I've been having issues since January,

If i was you , and had the option , I would move on to something else ,

Again , There is no settings to compare , They ship pre configured with all the settings that get it on the rain network.
The only difference between your unit and some on the forum might be antennae settings and that is about it .

Ask yourself this , If your having this much issue's just trying to get it activated now , What is it going to be like going forward ?

I hear you (completely).

Is there any chance you could check this for me? It's under System. After I changed this, everything went further south. I'm hoping I was just in too much of a hurry and should have waited. I was getting a good signal before I changed it and then did a factory reset.

I have left mine on the stock setting , setting it to 5G has never yielded any positive results .
The only way to properly set it back now that you have changed it , is to do another factory reset .

Got it back to "normal" - I suspect that the router isn't giving my devices the correct network settings

Surely I should be getting connectivity? See:

That's why I wonder - if the network settings are correct on the device

yes you should see some connectivity and the fact that you are able to get the activator . optimiser up is a step in the right direction. ow you need to move that router all over testing again and again until you get +100Mbps on that test page. Then when you're satisfied you can activate it (if thats what you want to do)

You need to get atleast 80 Mbps to activate .
Anything more than that is bonus at this stage in time .

Once you've activated will it be more forgiving? If I get 4mbps I'm happy and can at least work

High barrier to entry

100Mbps is the speed of the oldish lan cables which we thought were fast at the time? I think lan does gb/s now?
