Hi guys, I wonder if somebody can help me. I'm on Telkom 4G/LTE.

I run a daily task to sync my Win7 laptops time - the command is "w32tm /resync"

It used to work well, but stopped working a couple of weeks ago.

Today I tested it again, but was connected through MTN and it synced perfectly. "The command completed successfully."

Tried it on Telkom again, but still gives an error...... "The computer did not resync because no time data was available."

Any ideas?

Let me try it in a few mins and let you know. I'm on their Uncapped LTE service, for what it's worth

Running Windows 10 here but it seems to be working.

Which NTP server are you using?

weird!

I've tried most of them, but have it on time.windows.com at the moment

I just find it odd that it works perfectly when I connect through an MTN hotspot on my phone

Presently connected through modem/router via WiFi

not that I'm aware of - I'm too stupid with these things - I do have some IP cameras on my network and they sync correctly to the internet, even whilst I'm connected through Telkom mobile - these cameras are not open to the internet (I can't view them away from home)

It's really odd that it seems to be an ISP issue. The only thing that makes sense to me is that Telkom is unable to resolve the NTP server correctly.

Your other option would be to manually input another NTP server and see if it syncs. Good luck!

thanks wabbit16, I'll try some other NTP servers or maybe some freeware that does this :crying: Clipboard01.jpg

Silly question but what happens if you ping time.nist.gov from Telkom?

as a final test, I put my MTN sim in my router and the time synced perfectly, so I would imagine it's not a setting on my laptop/software or on my router - It has to be the Telkom mobile network

Anybody know who to contact there? I always dread dealing with these companies :crying:

just in case others have a similar problem.....

I could not gather the courage and patience to approach Telkom with my problem, so looked for alternatives and found http://www.timesynctool.com/

It works perfectly, whilst I'm connected through Telkom (or MTN) so problem is sorted :)
