Here’s how many people in Gauteng, the Western Cape and KZN say they are selling their homes so they can emigrate

So 90%+ are selling their homes not to emigrate...

Cool.

How accurate is this? The FNB chart states 'estimated'. How do they determine the reason for selling?

In my youngest class she is losing 2 close friends who are emigrating - my eldest has 1 of her classmates leaving for UK in Jan.

2 of my colleagues have resigned and are leaving SA.

Last night one of my close friends told me he and his wife are going to Australia early next year to look for opportunities and intent to start emigration process ASAP.

Plenty of other people close to me are discussing and looking at options too.

So I don't know about house sales stats but in my tiny little sphere of people around me it is definitely looking like a lot of people are deserting SA....

I'm also looking for work abroad, but not to run away or cause I don't like living in SA.

FNB surveys estate agents on a quarterly basis. At the end of 2013 the percentage of sellers emigrating was at 2%. That percentage has been increasing ever since. It is currently at its highest level in 8 or 9 years which back then would have marked the start of the Zuma error.
