The scratched out price on Takealot items is not Takealots prices
They told us years ago that it is the highest competitor's price on that particular day.

So when you see a 40% discount for example it isn't 40% discount from Takealot's normal price, most often it is 10% discount. That's it.

More than likely increased the price before the Loot payday or fathers day sale around that time both years, I think there was also a lockdown essentials sale during April.

Also there is no such thing as an early black Friday deal, it would just be a deal then, which these are not, so either way it's wrong.
