Like an Afrikaans friend would say... "Multichoice se hang bruin ballas."
Nope... "hanging brown balls" will translate into "hangende bruin ballas" or "bruin hangballas" or "bruin hangende ballas" :D

It all boils down to price in the end.

If it is affordable enough to pay one fee per month and have access to Netflix, Amazon, Hulu etc then why not?

I don't know on what planet you have been living recently, but a service offered by Multichoice and "affordable" just does not fit into the same sentence, never have and never will.

Hence, the South African consumer is seen as a "cash cow" by Multichoice.

Yup cutting the cord so much so that every one is jumping on the streaming bandwagon, now to get all your stuff you'll need to be signed up to different streaming channels just to watch their content. If only there was a way it could all be merged together and organised in an easy way to watch, for a decent price?

LOL - "organised in an easy way to watch, for a decent price" - Nothing further to add. LOL

Lots of knee jerk reactions. This applies to those getting their streaming through MC's platform. Obviously you won't need to pay Dstv to subscribe to Netflix. Also the journalism here leaves a lot to be desired, presenting the view of someone who clearly doesn't know a lot about the product space as though this will be the only option.

Of course it can be, the market will dictate.
The market here have been happy to open their wallets, for R900 worth of ****, for years.
So they have had no reason to change the business model.
But it seems that Netflix and co have started to change that market, so MC will adapt.

Gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised by Disney+. Turns out they included a lot more content than what I anticipated. It'll be interesting to see how they grow into the Marketshare.

DSTV is about as relevant as listening to the radio.
Oh! yes. Great value you get from Disney+
