Okay nevermind. I answered my own question :)

So heres the scoop on CellC 3G

3G Bundles start as low as R7.50 for 50MB.
All bundles are 15c per MB and last 30 days.

A prepaid voice&data SIM is 49c at picknpay and can be loaded with any data bundle.
Out of bundle on a voice sim is 99c/MB.
CellC 3G runs on 900Mhz which most old 3G devices can't run on. For example iPhone 3GS can't handle 3G on 900Mhz, so it will only run on Edge on CellC's 900Mhz band.
Edge isn't actually too bad, but you will notice a big drop in browsing speed. Edge is 256k or less. Whereas 3G is 384k and 3.5G (HSDPA) is 3.6 and 7.2Mbit.

If you buy a CellC Dongle for R600 you get a 7.2mbit USB dongle and a data sim loaded with 3GB of data (worth about R450) so effectively the dongle and SIM are R150. The data lasts 1 year!!!
Wow, I just saw that now. The guy at a CellC shop told me it only lasts a month.

Another very nice option is R45/m*24 gets you 500MB/month and a dongle.
Works out to R1080 for 12GB.

With vodacom I'm paying R2.50/MB out of bundle. Since my 3G needs are so unpredictable I never buy vodacom bundles and end up paying crazy money for 3G.
Vodacom has deals where you pay R12 for 20MB, R5 for 5MB and so on, which expires in one day!!!

I can't wait to get onto CellC but just need to figure out how I'm gonna do it.

It would seem you get no data. Vodacom is not help CellC beat the crap out of them.

At Game it is on special for R500. I was able to buy one and not RICA to keep for later.

Careful for OOB costs on contract. You could add a monthly recurring 50 MB bundle on top of that for R7.50. This guarantees you an OOB rate then of 15c/MB or R155/GB, AFAIK.

It piggy backs on Vodacom, but only on EDGE. EDGE performance can vary greatly. I have had speeds of no more than 40 kbit/sec in some areas and others I got over 200 kbit/sec.

cell c coverage sucks big time, u can have plenty of data but it becomes useless when I can't use it
