How long have we actually been spending any amount of money to search for them? Saying we have only ever detected five previously is just silly if we haven't been investing serious money and manpower into searching for them.

And what would that prove? Computer science does not make me an expert on orbital dynamics. No, we asked what level of knowledge you possess to be answering as though an expert.

Which you have clearly intentionally gotten wrong... Tracking objects in earth orbit is orders or magnitude easier and cheaper than tracking objects in the wider solar system, some of which have long period orbits originating in the Oort cloud.

I've failed spectacularly at Kerbal Space Program to know it's an extremely complex field.

As stated in the OP:

Scientists have identified most of the gigantic asteroids that could wipe out the planet, and none of those known objects pose a threat.
