Heh Spacey.

I absoloutely enjoyed HoMM 1 -> 3 .

Many a school holiday was spent playing it.

I wont start a rant on HoMM4.

I was really optimistic about HoMM5 with the transition to 3D sprites but for me at least something is missing, that spark just isn't there.

Perhaps it's just the Guild Wars effect.

Say it aint so...I felt a definite spark, the spark of no 3d0 cheese, it no longer feels like a game that the designers just managed to pull off(IV), it feels confident and solid. This game is too cool go buy it and post! I you liked heroes 2 ur gonna love this

I'm going to sound really old, but I still play Heroes II. For me, Heroes III the game became too complex without adding any more playability. Will be interested to know what Heroes V is like.

i did play the demo and kinda enjoyed it but err... couldnt see the meaning in all the traveling and fighing and questing... maybe the demo was kinda not storyline ready?

BT Games have the collector's edition @ R399 me thinks which has some nice extras. ;)

The feel of the original 3 is definitely not there. I was a HUGE fan of HOMM and MM but 4 didn't really take me (still played a bit) and 5 seems pretty crap from the little I've played so far. The magic was in 2D! :D

I must agree, I have played about 4 missions of the story and I can say it lacks the fun I remember having with 2 and 3. I just want more creature types, the repetition is a problem and I am just not impressed. Perhaps it is just the fact that I have also been playing guild wars lately and the variety of quests, lush looking world and the human element is really engaging. I find I need much more; a game needs to make me want to play it not play it just because I feel obligated to. But I don’t think it is a waste of money, you should get your gaming time out of it.

Got my copy on Friday. I love the game, and I have been waiting for it for ages. Has anyone tried multiplayer yet? Is the "ghost" mode really practical?

I am also getting Rise of Legends, thought the demo was pretty sweet. Anyone out there got that?

I got Rise of Legends, when you get the game remember to run updates from within the game interface for some bug fixes. ;)

There was just too much in RoL that made me pick it over HOMM V.
