Hi,
Been forced to live with trenched Ff in Sunningdale for a few years with no alternative, and yeah, it worked most of the time, but then about a year ago, Octotel trenched into our street, another whole world of pain about driveways and pavements being dug up etc, but, at least we got an alternative. The Past 6 months, I've had ENDLESS outages and drops on FF, I think I became the Coolideas rep's nightmare on here. Last month it escalated to daily, and one entire weekend I was offline. Saw another user post about migrating to Octotel, and I decided to follow suite.
Paid up-front for two services, but using my own 1Gig router. Waited 2 days, guys arrived on a Friday afternoon at 4:30, and floated their fibre in the same existing conduit from the pavement, and all in and installed in an hour. Emailed Monday, got a username and password, and changed over, and turned off FF's ONT.
Going onto my 3rd week, 160 Mbps up and down, 1 or 2 Ms latency, and hasn't dropped or fluttered ONCE. Cool Ideas support EVENTUALLY marked the FF Service as "terminated", and all is well.
So, Any other Parklands\Sunningdale users or I guess wherever you may be, Its pretty painless to migrate, but get off FF asap, you won't regret it. Octotel, your service is rock solid. Thanks.
