You could use something like PCAnywhere, which allows you to control one PC from another and there are othe similar products. But if you are inside a corporate firewall then you have to make sure that you can get in, most likely would need VPN access to the work network.

What operating system?

If you're using windows xp professional there is built in remote access server. Even if you have xp prof at work and xp home at home you can still download the client and use that.

Use something like dyndns ( www.dyndns.org ) to get around the changing IP issue. You pick a name (lets say assagay.dyndns.org), register it on dyndns then run the dyndns client on your work machine. The client keeps the dyndns dns server up-to-date with the internet IP.

Then from anywhere on the net, you just access assagay.dyndns.org with whatever protocol (program) you want - like Remote Desktop, VNC, PCAnywhere, Remote Admin, etc.

Keep in mind to use the latest VNC client - there is an exploit present in winVNC to allow one to use your PC without a password

Also, straight VNC/pcAnywhere/Remote Desktop is not recommended - better use a VPN solution as first layer, then the VNC/pcAW/RDP as second layer of protection - most VPN solutions do keep a log of login attempts.

I'm not the biggest windows user - does W2k come with terminal services?
