I need a dvd that can store roughly 6+ gigs of data, that can still be written with a standard dvd writer. Does such a thing exist?

It's called a dual layer DVD, they're twice the size of a normal DVD. They're quite a bit more expensive than standard DVDs and write at a slower speed, so I'd imagine it could take about an hour to write one.

Yes it does, it's called a dual layer dvd, increasing the capacity of a disc from 4.7 to 8.5 gigabytes.

Edit: beat me to it mooK arghh, I was distracted.

Ask a friend with a dual layer drive to write it for you, most dvd writers support dual layer, what's your dvd writer name and model?

That doesnt look like it supports dual layer. If you dont wanna get a new writer/friend to write it for u, cant you split in onto two discs?
