ChatGPT study finds link between chatbot use and loneliness

Higher use of chatbots like ChatGPT may correspond with increased loneliness and less time spent socializing with other people, according to new research from OpenAI in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Those who spent more time typing or speaking with ChatGPT each day tended to report higher levels of emotional dependence on, and problematic use of, the chatbot, as well as heightened levels of loneliness, according to research released Friday.

When I read the title I missed the word "use". "High chatbot may be linked to increased loneliness..." was eondring what it was getting high on.

As long as users realise there is a huge corporation behind that chatbot and it is learning more and more about you.

huh, written by OpenAI... so to solve this they're going to release AI Therapist again to assist their users?
