High Court granted order to freeze R1.4 billion of assets from former Eskom executives

The North Gauteng High Court has awarded the the National Prosecuting Authority’s Investigating Directorate (ID) a restraint order valued at R1.4 billion against former Eskom executives and former Tubular Construction Projects contractors.

The preservation order was granted in terms of the Prevention of Organised Crimes Act and served and enforced on all the accused in Mpumalanga, Gauteng, and Limpopo earlier on Tuesday 4 May.

How in the hell do 5 people accumulate 1,4 billion from forking at Eskom?
WTF salaries do they get then?

I suppose at least something is finally happening.

Unacceptably slow. These people should all be in prison already with the ill-gotten gains confiscated.

If I was a senior cadre general I’ll be embarressed to see that a few investigative journalists have been publishing papers with all the information in it to start trials. SAPS should just buy it and use it to start charging all the criminals. All their work has been done as far as facts are concerned.
Or is the handbrake still the fact that many important government employees will go to jail.
How many generals have got pending cases against them?

In other articles I saw some of the assets seems to be houses amongst others. R1,4 bil can go quite a long way.
Their houses were frozen? What does that mean exactly... they can't sell. Doesn't sound like much of a problem.

Jeez, people, it's the start we've been waiting for for more than a decade. It's better than nothing at all!

are you the Better late then never kid?
was always one of those, when people are late, better late then never,

no it isnt,
No, I wasn't. Late is late and disrespectful.

Too many people on this forum with instant gratification needs and that will never be happy regardless of the process that needs to be followed.
