The Johannesburg High Court has struck eMedia’s urgent application against MultiChoice off the roll, the broadcasters have confirmed.

eMedia took legal action against MultiChoice over restrictions it placed in a sub-licensing deal with the SABC, blocking it from showing Rugby World Cup games on Openview.

Sounds like eMedia can pursue this as a normal, non-urgent issue if they still choose to.

And I would think MC can have a legal go at them still, even if eMedia don't continue - defamation etc.

Doubt it. Defamation requires that something isn't substantiated. All Emedia's claims were public knowledge.

MC needs to shut down so that other media companies can get involved. This whole I own everything persona is BS. People should stand and get rid of DStv. Hotels, bars, restaurants everyone should cancel. Let them liquidate let them shut down. They're crooks, common thieves and Marc Jury is a pawn he knows nothing.

If we can get MC to close down we'll have better offerings coming in to provide us proper top quality content. But until then I will never support corrupt businesses especially unethical ones. I don't even pay my TV licence because I don't watch sabc BS and I don't watch repeated rubbish on DStv.
