Police link high-level Eskom exec to power station sabotage

The South African Police Service (SAPS) has identified a high-ranking Eskom executive that they believe could be central to the sabotage plaguing the power utility's generation fleet, City Press reports.

The executive has been the subject of discussions between security cluster ministers over serious allegations made against them.

Nothing will happen, person of interest will never be named, it will be brushed aside, person will get redeployed to an even cushier job after a couple of months just to be replaced with someone else that can feed from the trough for a bit. Rince and repeat

A high-level executive? We all know who serves on the Executive Committee, that is public, but what does high-level imply?

We can expect a swift arrest followed by a speedy trial and a long prison sentence!!!!

oh wait - we have the spineless corrupt ANC in charge so exactly as @VooDooC said :-(

I will go with @The_Right_Honourable_Brit, any senior manager can fit in depending how closely you are using the word, even a power station manager.

My opinion on this is that they should have ignored using 'exec' and rather used a term like ‘top-level management’. Without certainty, it is not a good idea to use high-ranking/high-level with exec as it narrows the scope into which can be speculated upon. Whoever this person may be, the article does make out that the person has the powers to delegate.

It is alleged that the person in question strategically appointed hand-picked engineers to initiate generation unit breakdowns at certain power stations.

Those hand-picked engineers will also need to be investigated.

It does question where this person is positioned on the organogram.

I think they have seen how a high ranking ANC politician angle workedfor De Ruyter and are hoping for the same effect, both the De Ruyter politician and this executive might just turn out to be damp squibs and totally not what we were expecting.

It was De Ruyter guys. Jan's people are always the ones to blame.
