My experience: just about every Eskom contract has some form of cost added, a great deal of which could be seen as corruption. eg. use only this security company, subcontractor, supplier, transporter, plant hire company. This is similar, for me, to dealing with business forums aka construction mafia on municipal contracts. These go to the very top of the ANC structures, certainly locally.

I do not see any breakthroughs, not significant ones anyway.

Imagine being one of these long-term sloths in the upper stratosphere of Eskom management. I would die of embarrassment at being so utterly useless at my job. But they're all still there, some for 5-10 years. That is the ANC's race to the bottom, where failure and mediocrity is rewarded.
