Have a Bosch freezer which uses 90 watts. Temp is set to -6 deg. I notice it has double seals around the doors and clamps tight when you close the door

I'm making this post in passing.

@Hisense SA

So, never having had the pleasure of being able to measure how much power my devices use, I bought a "kill-a-watt" from @GeeWiz - among other stuff - as part of my efforts to transition to self sustainability in terms of reliability on the national grid.

HiSense 65" ULED TV (65A6130UW) - Black Friday purchase. Standard settings while running YouTube. Once I change the settings to dynamic, it shoots up to 156w. Apologies, I can't find this model on HiSense's site anymore

HiSense 32" FHD (32A5600HW) - Recent purchase (x3), standard settings: https://hisense.co.za/product/32-fhd-hd-smart-a5600-32a5600hw

Twenty fscking eight watts while running the YT app! That's absolutely amazing efficiency!

So, my TV's consume just over 200w, my lights just over 120w all round. I'm not going to delve too much into that right now as it's earmarket for the "off grid" thread, I just thought I'd give HiSense kudos for supremem power preservation.
Few questions for you is you don't mind:
1. When you TV is on standby "switched off by using the remote" how much energy is it consuming?
2. What the energy consumption on the DSTV decoder Explorer?
3. Does the washing machine consume more energy during spinning than during wash/rinse and if so, what is the percentage increase?

Rough estimates will be apricated.
Thank you

I'll have to find my power meter for you. Also, we don't have DSTV so you'll have to ask someone else regarding that, but I cannot imagine an Explora using more than 40 - 50w

So I got a 65" U7Q at the beginning of the year, with energy efficient backlight it, plus my sound bar use about 100w with youtube, put it on high dynamic hdr with Dolby vision and Dolby Atmos on and my Xbox Series X and that all hits 450w. Watching blurays with that it hits about 230 still not bad considering all that's running. My older 58" chomped more.

Bluerays? Rips on something like Stremio, or actual physical dvds?

The less load the better, way I am going.

Want to go the most minimalistic way I can.

Actual disks, I prefer having the actual media.
