hmmm...burst speed

I've noticed that lots of the time these days when i connect i get speeds of up to 120kbp/s in flashget. (I'm capped) . This lasts for abt 5min then goes down to 5kbp/s for the rest of the time.
If i disconnect and reconnect the same thing happens.
Anyone know whats going on?

I have heard about this effect a few times before. I also get a similar thing... sometimes it even lasts for a few hours, where i get very nice uncapped speeds even though i am capped. probably WBS's BW manager takes some time to kick in after a reconnect.

Consider yourselves lucky that it only happens when you are capped! My iBurst is run on one LED of signal constant! (i still have 1.2gigs left)

well, that is a signal issue on ur side... mine runs 5 led's 99% of the time.

Get an external antenna mR HeAd...or read my post on building your own. To be honest I don't think iburst is worth it if you don't have 100% signal.

I managed to play BF2 on siax server.....I didnt expect to be able to play....but I could. There was a few latency spikes but nothing serious So if your close to a tower you could even play local FPS (and I'm capped).

Well thats only when u connect/reconnect because the capping service needs time to recognise that you are capped...it takes only few minutes or the first connection with like 30-50KB/s...but later drops to 5-10KB/s.Plus there is times when something goes wrong with their caping service and like the whole day users which supposed to be capped are getting those speeds 30-50KB/s.But then we get happy and ofcourse advertise ourselves on the forum so Iburst people see the problem and they fix it immediately by slowing the speeds like sh`` u cant even check email with it...
