Holy Cr@p:eek::eek:

I can't beleive this actually worked I had a 80GB Laptop HDD at work that came from a customer's laptop which was dead and not being picked up by any bios..

Replace with new HDD. Just 4 fun after the customer left I messed around with the HDD by kicking it accross the room and smacked the HDD full blast into the wall while holding it in my hand.
After pluggin it into the workshop pc I can see all the data on the HDD and copy stuff off it..

Holy Cr@p you would expect it to explode or make even a noise but it's workin... So far.. :D:D:D

Runnin a full scandisk now

I won't trust that HDD with my life.

Hope you copied the data off it to give back to the client.

I've seen it happens - the HDD's spindle motor develops some problem, and won't spin up. All you do is hold the HDD in your hand horizontally, and twist your hand so that the HDD remains horizontal, but the platters will spin the other way. Then connect it up, and it'll start up (hopefully).

Resuscitated two SCSI HDD's this way yesterday from a server which was down for more than two months, and we needed to access the data... but the first and last scsi disks just won't spin up, but after I've given them this treatment, they spun up.

I won't trust any HDD with data after it developed this kind of symptom - one of these days it won't spin up at all.
