Home Affairs gets R400 million network upgrade to end "the System is Offline"

The State IT Agency (Sita) is spending R400 million revamping Home Affairs’ whole network, Minister Aaron Motsoaledi has announced in his budget vote speech.

Sita recently finished the procurement process and would complete the revamp in the third quarter of this financial year, Motsoaledi said.
They lacked the budget earlier this month.
To improve network uptime, the department concluded an agreement with the State Information Technology Agency (Sita) and Dimension Data in the 2018/19 financial year “to develop a network architecture appropriate for the department and to manage the telecommunication service providers”. At least R200-million is required for implementation, but the department did not have the budget, according to the annual report.

This would explain the place being so corruption free and no syndicates operating there. They are all vetted.
The engineers have been vetted and will soon begin at Home Affairs.
