Bad news for people who want a new smart ID or passports

The Department of Home Affairs (DHA) has been quiet about adding more DHA-supported bank branches to the current network, through which South Africans can apply for their smart ID or passport.

Participating banks last told MyBroadband that they were awaiting a decision on whether the DHA services would be offered at more bank branches.

DA fanbois will be in shortly to explain how little time DA have had to do anything.

5 years - 10 years - 15 years - soon?
Ask the DHA what their interpretation of soon is.. Point is, they will just say that there's no need for more bank branches because of the upcoming DHA premium subscription..

Premium Subscription needs them to fix their systems and branches, so they function properly. If they don't do that then "Premium Subscription " is meaningless, just another bright idea blown away by the wind.

Does anybody know if the process of applying via a bank has changed?
Last time I did it, was to complete process and payment via ehome.gov.za, including the booking, and then approach the bank/branch for the capturing of Bio data.
problem is :

Eish....

Be it ID's, Drivers licenses or firearm licenses this government spends more time confounding any attempt to get one, then it does actually facilitating people to get them. DA's got a big mouth and very little else.

That goes for all politicians
