Home Affairs has more downtime from network problems than load-shedding

So Network problems are the main downtime issue.

The network issues will only be evident when no loadshedding so in actual fact the system is almost never on?

You won't believe how many Home Affairs officials have inverters and generators at home...

But you are correct the Home Affairs network is dated, wonky, and unstable and falls over when anyone sneezes.

Over and above real network downtime, I would like to know how many of these outages are due to a staff member pulling the LAN cable when they are too tired or too lazy to work any further from 08:50 the morning.

Strange how banks never have downtime.. maybe pay for platinum services? It is after all a life or death service to the public.

"Sita hit back at the department and said the DHA was spending the bare minimum on its IT services."

Translation:

"SITA cadres are not getting paid enough handouts and "commission"..... "

See @Fuzzbox comment below yours. I'm willing to bet half the companies getting network contracts for SITA never installed a network since they existed which will be about 1 month prior to the tender date if you check on CIPC..
