Does anyone have recommendations for a water flow sensor that can be hooked up to HassIO?

Some of my ideas are:
Wifi/Zigbee and running on battery would probably be nice, or the other option is hooking up an Arduino in a waterproof case close to the tap.
I bought a "TRANTECH TTMJVB25 -P BRASS FLOW METER" from transducers.co.za and have it attached to the main inbound water pipe for my house linked to a sonoff SV running tasmota. It has 2 reed switches which pulse every 5 litres (10 litres if you just use 1 reed).

Been running fine for over a year now.

Coupled with one of these - https://eiferer.co.za/products/wifi-electronic-control-water-valve-gas-valve - and telegram alerts for high water usage you can shut off your water remotely if you detect excessive usage/a leak (I just have alerts via telegram every 500l In a day)

I did order the plastic flow metres you find on robotics.org.za and banggood and they all required some sort of algorithm to work out the flow, quality not great either, the transducer device is heavy duty and very simple with the 5l reed pulses.

Thanks for all the replies. I will have to do a bit of reading to decide how to link it up.

I would rather go for quality and ease of use above cheap at the moment.

I am not seeing that product on their site

Do you have a picture of it set up?

Luckily I have power right next to where the main water pipe comes into the property so I just use a USB charger to power the SV, it's inside a kind of post box so I don't need to put it in an enclosure

Hmm , I may do the same but to then monitor both total water consumption and then also what my new irrigation system is using.

Yea I've wanted to do one on the irrigation but I've gotten by just noting the start and end figures since generally not much else runs at the same time and I'm not pedantic about being to-the-litre accurate for things like this

Hi all

I have a Sonoff SV that I use to open my front gate motor over MQTT (Tasmota). I'm struggling to figure out how how to get the MQTT state to change when I open the gate with the old school remote.

Is this possible?

My aim is to have the outside lights come on when I open the gate with the remote.

EDIT. I'm using HA with Node Red.

I think you need to put a reed switch connected to GPIO14 to get state. This thead has the links for it, so start searching

yea you wouldn't be able to know the state without a reed switch. my gate motor has a reed built into it (two actually), most do - you should be able to just wire that into the SV.

I have a Centurion D5 Evo.

Do you perhaps know offhand how I'd wire that into the SV? I usually just follow guides off of the net for this kinda stuff.

I'm 80% sure it's this, not home yet just found an old image - your board look the same?

It looks newer than that one but I guess the functionality is similar.

How exactly would I wire it to an SV? In general.
