Interesting design:

IMG_7641.png

Bigger than old one. Uses current sensing ring now.

It has a normally closed relay so it is designed to be on most of the time. This would make sense if you are more planning it for the power measuring aspect than switching things on and off. I would actually consider replacing a couple of my POW R2s with it.

Also normal ESP8266 chip. Should be easily flashable to tasmota.

Any idea when the POW R3 will be available in South Africa?

Not the end of the world I still have a nice big box from the Geyserwise crap in line.

Connectors also look much more appropriate for application now.
Yeah, I am really not a fan of the spring loaded connectors on the normal Sonnof switches.

I believe there is a way to get sonoff to work with local access only and not their cloud.

Which modules work like that?
Does HA work seamlessly with local access?

Currently I’m using SonoffLan to control my sonoff devices.

How do you switch ?
My sonoffs (on SonoffLAN) work with local access only?

Is it for all devices? Even older models?
Firmware updates needed ?

As far as I know it supports all the sonoff devices and I have used it to update the firmware on the devices as well.

I just normally have to pair in compatibility mode

Tested Devices

Tested (only LAN)

Maybe other eWeLink cameras also work, I don’t know.

Tested (LAN and Cloud)

These devices work both on a local network and through the cloud.

Tested (only Cloud)

These devices only work through the cloud!

Tested ZigBee (only Cloud)

  • Sonoff ZigBee Bridge - turn on for pairing mode
  • SONOFF SNZB-01 - Zigbee Wireless Switch
  • SONOFF SNZB-02 - ZigBee Temperature and Humidity Sensor
  • SONOFF SNZB-03 - ZigBee Motion Sensor
  • SONOFF SNZB-04 - ZigBee Wireless door/window sensor

@tRoN I found something you may like.

Import this blueprint to your Automations and you can configure the SNZB-01 with ease.

I have one (different brand, but same thing). Your wiring is correct. No need to bridge the negatives though, they should already be connected internally.

Thanks so much, so the negative connection, can be left empty?

I looked at that Sonoff as well, but it seems that it gives a power output to the gate? I used the Sonoff SV, which can be modified to be just a contactor. That works well on my Centurion D5 gate motor and the Xtrac garage motor.

If you can bridge those 2 ports on the gate motor (where you want to connect the wires) with a piece of wire and the gate opens then you have the correct ones.
