Just got a few Tradfri USB adapters that act as Zigbee signal repeaters.

Will scatter them around the house to help zigbee signals.

What range are you getting with each of them indoors?

Upgraded to 2021.7, without reading update blog and after reboot, I couldn't connect on HTTPS port. Error 400 from nginx proxy. Too much other crap going on to troubleshoot so Reverted back to 2021.6.6 and it was ok again.

It's getting ridiculous that for every upgrade something breaks. Definitely only going to do one update a month now. Thankfully have various ways to revert back but do feel for those that don't have those options.
You sure its not related to this?

I always read the release notes first, 90% of the time something has broken on my side, its been covered in the release notes that I didn't read :p

And I actually remember reading that blog post when it came out and seeing that in my logs and telling myself I need to fix it... but I swear in my little mind, that felt like a problem for 6 months in the future. I will sort it out on the weekend.

Got the Tuya integration working but only get Relay state, Power, Amperage and Voltage out of it.

Any way to get the running total of usage from it?

Failing that, any way I could incorporate the running wattage data into Utility meter somehow and build my own data? Probably not an option as it would be deeply inaccurate off device.

As @chickenbeef said.

See https://github.com/tinuva/home-assistant-config/blob/master/packages/power_sensors.yaml

As long as you get the watt you can generate kWh daily and monthly with integration and utility meter

Ps method left works best I find

Use an Integration and Utility Meter

Won't the updates from the wattage meter be too irregular to really be accurate?

I'm well familiar with utility meter but it would use the total usage from Tasmota to calculate.

This Tuya thing doesn’t work.

It populates once and then never updates.

Just turned plug off and it still claims it’s on and pushing voltage.

Yeah on tuya local it updates but not nearly as good as tasmota.

It is really worth flashing tasmota if you have the option to do so.

Nah I opened one of them and there is no way in hell I’m going to manage that.

I don’t mind having the usage in the app really if I can at least get the status in HA and turn on and off remotely.

Just weird that it never updates, it is technically in pre-release I guess.

So today, decided to do some admin, and as I had decided to earlier this year to pay for services, I use but have been 'freeloading' on, subscribed to Nabu Casa (1 month free trial before they start taking my money).

I guess the nice thing is that they sort out all the crazy reverse proxy stuff. I have a few questions.

I was accessing my Hass via a nginx proxy , I guess I don't need that now so could deactivate it? Can I turn off the let's encrypt too ? Nabu casa provided a URL , and for now, just reconfigured my phone app to use it before doing all the other devices .

What other cool features can be used as a Nabu casa user? I see I could intergrate to Alexa and have done so but I could control stuff before in any case. Now I need to test to see if Alexa knows if a gate/garage door is actually open .

I guess TTS is only available this way via Nabu Casa too? Never tried it before today.. Changed some alarm automations to do TTS, and it was great to hear it tell me via my sonos speakers that that alarm was armed in evening. Also added TTS for the gate/garage door automations.
Wonder what else I could use TTS for :)

Any other tips would be appreciated
