Ok. But can I bottle it or what should I do? Bottle with less priming sugar or leave for now?
Poisoning is possible...just more likely for distilling not beer making at all... unless you drop poison in...So I see on tv tonight, the system is starting to get all out under the collar about the home brewing industry.
Plenty of scare tactics, dire warnings about this and that, poisoning etc.
Yeah fair enough, that makes sense.that's what i meant yes ... this specific recipe is meant to be DH about 3 days BEFORE bottling, so way after fermentation is finished.
It's mostly only NEIPA's that gets hopped during fermentation .... and the whole thing about introducing O² when you DH is overrated ... you open the lid, drop the hops and then immediately close the lid ... Stop stressing, as I bet you're introducing more O² during bottling than what you would during a DH![]()
Picking up another 20l of wort tomorrow so decided to pressure test the new fermenter.

Happy to report no leaks.

I've got a feeling this co2 setup is going to be handy when I'm transferring from the fermenter without the tap.
lol - I did not test that out but the top was definitely distended.how many pumps does it take to pop the lid off xD
In future I'm using the tapped ones for the secondary - I'll syphon from the untapped ones into those using co2.Man I am allergic to taps.... They are such a pig to ensure they are kept clean
If you are kegging then sure no taps all the way. I just use a tap on my bottling bucket with a bottle filling wand, fermentors definitely dont need a tap.Man I am allergic to taps.... They are such a pig to ensure they are kept clean
You are going to need to leave it to ferment out before trying to bottle, there are too many variables and you will either end up under carbed or with bottle bombs if you do it too early.Ok. But can I bottle it or what should I do? Bottle with less priming sugar or leave for now?

How do you get the beer from the fermenter into the bottling bucket then?
On a different note, my beerlab order was involved in an accident with the courier. "Pieces", their word not mine, of my package have arrived at the depot...
Agreed, only have a tap on my bottling bucketGet an auto siphon. Taps really are the devil. Agreed you need a tap on a bottling bucket though. But that's also easier to clean as you have such little contact time. My issue with taps on fermenters is you take samples and then the beer stays in the tap. You can spray some sanitizer in after taking a sample, but still...
