I would NOT use that cube .... they cheap ... just replace my friend.

You might just be unlucky and get an infection on your next brew and immediately think its the cube when it could be something else .... then on the brew after that the source of infection might still be there ... get me ?
Agreed, not worth the time effort or money

Keep in mind a SodaStream bottle costs a fortune to swap out, and you get like 3 kegs from it.

Quite right - it is a start but at some point one would have to get a better solution. I use this from mygas:

Valve is the same as a Sodastream. I use nitro more so it is fine for my purposes. Can't remember the cost - that I will have to check out at work.

Still not your problem. You should be getting new stuff. Stuff you paid for.

That courier company should have the insurance that also covers the GOODS they're transporting !

They SHOULD pay you out .... Not Beerlab's fault, so this is on the courier

Was my courier and claim already submitted.

Just an annoying thing and a delay, was going to brew this evening. Probably going to be beerless for a weekend now which is highly depressing.

Should I be looking at reusing this yeast?

I wouldn't bother. If you're buying from RHBC it's like R30 for fresh yeast. If you get it wrong (and it's easy to get it wrong) you'll throw a batch down the drain. Consider it an insurance policy.

I know some guys on here will disagree with me, but honestly it's not worth the R30 you would save to take the risk in my view. Reusing yeast isn't hard, but getting a perfectly sterile environment to do it in is.

Fair enough. I was just thinking about using it in my next batch of crapple.

Was wondering where all these grainfather clones came from...

Yup, I saw a bunch of them actually leaving the original model numbers in their documentation.
All of them are pretty much the same as the gen3 robobrew, we just get reamed a lot harder on price in SA.
In Australia the 40L system costs R4500!! that is a pretty big difference.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, its not worth the risk of spoiling an entire batch. It looks nice and clean now but I will probably cut the top off and use it as a bottle washing bucket instead.
