Don't even thing twice, get the stout. I have another batch or 2 to make, but then I am switching to stouts, if you brew soon, they will be nice and conditioned by the time it gets cold. Cold winter nights = yummy stout.

Greg loves his stout.

Weee. The 3kw element arrived today. Works great, the testing worked really nicely!

Photos will follow once I have everything set up nicely right now the set up is as follows:

1. 50l Stainless steel kettle
2. Re-circulation pump
3. 3KW element + gas (if I want to speed things along)
4. STC 1000 rigged with 16A relay for 3KW element
5. [To be added] automated timer to allow for delayed starts to have that strike water nice and ready next day

Another DIY grainfather :) Will be using this to do BIAB

Please note that even though the pot size is 50L I will only be doing 20-25L max batches.... let the fun continue

Got a 20K Dunkelweiss to brew in the next few days then im brewing a boddingtons pub ale clone again

Brew in a box from Bevplus with some Safale US-05. After 6 days bottled and 3 days later, best beer I have drunk this year.
US-05 gets a lot of hate but I have yet to brew anything with it that I didnt like.
Which style of brew in a box did you get?

I've bottled my Blonde Ale today Not sure how long to wait until the Session IPA I bottled on Sunday is ready to drink. I bottled a few samples in plastic 330ml Coke bottles and they're firming up nicely so I am tempted...

Also tempted by the stout wort the brewery is going to be selling next week...
Start tasting them, with APA and IPA brews I normally bottle on a Sunday and from Wednesday start testing.
Its normally fairly undercarbed on the Wednesday but it goes quickly day by day from then.
IPA's are best nice and fresh, the flavour will all be there and it will be great even if under carbonated initially.

I really hope they are still supplying wort in a month or two, Im due for a visit to my office in PE and I really want to pick up some wort while Im there.

I cracked open a bottle of the IPA tonight - it was good. Could use a little more carbonation but I might have stuffed up the amount of primer...

They say they will as long as there continues to be interest.

You will see the carbonation level rise pretty steeply in the next day or two, unless you really went low on the priming.

If RHBC to Car Park John wort then Im absolutely driving to PE just to pick some up! Its a fairly simple beer but has such a great malty flavour.

Their amber? I'm pretty sure they did that last week. I've ordered 20l of next week's stout just for the hell of it.

If you do want some I suggest getting hold of them a few days before picking it up. They don't have it on tap ready to go. They do 1000l runs and most guys pick up after the brew.

That's the one I used. Unfortunately I decided to use one of the more exotic options, maple syrup, and I'm concerned I might not have used enough.

Don't worry you might just need to leave it to carb up a bit longer and maybe keep it in a warmer spot. The yeast will almost go dormant if you added the syrup and now it's in the fridge

That's what I'm hoping for. I only bottled it on Sunday so I realise I'm being a bit impatient. :)

I use corn sugar no flavor imparted and quick carb

Maple syrup is a more complex sugar and will take a little longer to ferment. 2 weeks is likely what you aiming for at a minimum

I used regular white sugar for the Blonde Ale I bottled Wednesday and the 440ml buddy bottle samples are already firming up nicely.
