Coolerbox is then the best. Don't have to worry about insulating then imo. Maybe try get a tall round one instead of the rectangle. It will hold temperature better and less surface contact with air.

Thanks!

I always end up getting very jealous whenever to browse any of the international homebrew shop sites. Those guys in the US have such an array of awesome equipment to choose from!

Cool! I've pledged a robust porter that I still need to brew this weekend. I also have tickets available if anyone wants.

I think you should offer a ticket to Lament.
Give us the details of your SBF Brew so I can make sure I get to your stand.

Just checking but any CPT folks going to the southyeasters festival?

On another note, anyone ever converted a water urn as a boiler... just wondering if the base would handle a gas burner

Dammit I might not be allowed to pledge because my brewery is launching soon. Just got a mail from Sean that I'm not eligible. I'be explained that we haven't launched yet and that I am brewing this batch at home, so hopefully it's ok.

@ Lament

make some time to watch this >

This guy is the reason I got into homebrewing after I found his channel on youtube, because he just makes it look so easy :D

Check some of his other videos as well if you have the time ... there's even one on hydrometers (since you're not sure about gravity readings :) )

Hope this clears things for you ;)

@ GrootP
you boil 2 liters water, add the kit content, boil for 10 to 15 minutes

You never boil the wort from a kit

When I was still using kits, I always boiled to kill all bacteria.
Home-brewing is to time consuming and the kits to expensive and for me to take a chance of contamination, which one would only
find out about 5 weeks later when you open the first bottle.
I never took the chance.

I always boiled the few kits that I did.

Amongst other things it helps dissolve the hopped LME.

I never boiled the kits. Just use boiled water to dissolve. If you boil the hopped LME then the flavour will change.

That's like saying any food you eat straight from a tin is not safe :whistling:

... contamination would more than likely show up during fermentation

Anyone got a good IPA all grain recipe?

Need something to drink while the lager is doing its thing.

Thanks, seems everyone is raving about it on that forum... can only be good signs.

Recipe also showing ferment @17C which is easy enough during the night but during the day the garage gets up to 22 and my freezer is already in use.

Btw what hop substitution are you making for warrior? I can't get it locally here so have gone with Nugget.

Lastly looking at a BRY97 American West Coast yeast, as once again the yeasts they using aren't supplied here.
