Uncapped Wi-Fi for R89 a month in South Africa through FibrePoynt

FibrePoynt has received funding from the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA) to expand its high-speed fixed broadband solution for low-income communities.

FibrePoynt offers wireless Internet access through strategically placed access points called Janus Consumer Access Points (JCAPs).

These dual-beam Wi-Fi JCAPs use a “corridor coverage” system which covers streets in a neighbourhood rather than delivering blanket coverage through a single tower.

After this photos I doubt it will cost R89 hardware alone is expensive it might cost R89 PM if they charge upfront installation cost or government is funding this project

I've had a quote few years back from a company doing a similar thing in CPT, they told me it was something like R7000 once off installation (they had pay off terms) or a much lower install fee but a massive bill every month, it was a basic speed like 10/10 or something, this could be like 2/3 years ago if im not mistaken

Back to 15kb/s internet speeds too.

What's with all the wannabe "fibre" products that are actually wireless? First AirFibre and now FibrePoynt... *shakes head*

What are the terms and where do I sign up?

Anything Government backed, no thank you....happy with my Level 7 thank you....

I smell a government subsidy rat to supposedly disadvantaged areas (ie taxpayer funded currently advantaged areas).
