I am considering buying a Honda Civic 1.8 i vtec vxi 2007. But before I make my final decision i want to know how are the Civic fuel consumption? Is it economical? I drive a Toyota Rav4 J and that car is thirsty I am looking for something that is economical in fuel.

Hope someone can give advice

I drive a 2009 model of that vehicle, and I average around 7.3l per 100km.

I had a 2008 Honda Civic VXI in Auto; great car to drive but fuel consumption really heavy. I got 330 KM range on a full tank in city driving.

Open road was marginally better.

Hence eventually had it sold.

That's my biggest worry. I can't go from one thirsty car to the next.

Jees, how badly do you drive or does the auto screw over fuel consumption.

I get 600kms on a tank quite easily..

Sounds about right. Have/had two friends with 8th gen VXI R18's and neither of them complain about bad fuel economy. My own VXI is a diesel though, so not quite the same. FWIW, I get around the same mileage, heavy city driving in Pta cbd and I have a heavy foot.
There's also Fuelly

i mostly drive from home, school and work. So with the morning and 5pm traffic, i drive on an average of 60-80km/hr.

I have the 2013 hatch in auto. Also very heavy on fuel - around 10.5l/100km when city driving

Geepers. Do you have a leak in your tank or something?

I drive my 2007 car HARD and I still get nearly double your distance.

I think the worst I get is 550km on 50L of fuel. (45 ish because I don't really use those spare 5L)

I have a 2007 model and easy highway driving I recently got 720km

On average, mixed driving, I hit about 600km.
