Howdy MyBB,

i currently drive a Subaru Legacy / Outback. Really nice car, but it is very heavy on petrol (yes, i have a heavy foot)

I am looking at getting 2010 Honda Civic VIII 1.8 Lxi A/T. Dont want anything fancy, just a nice family car. Anyone drive / driven one ? Or knows somebody that ownes one ???? Just like to get more opinions, as the people i have spoken to have a lot of good to say about the car.

TIA

If you're only going after a plain and simple family car, the LXI is a very decent choice. From what I can remember, the lxi has the least "extras", so all you get is power steering and aircon. EXI and VXI will give you a few more extras, and wont cost too much extra secondhand ...

I wonder if Subaru will bring the Outback 2.0 Diesel to SA?
Good ground clearance and 5.7L/100km.
Driving a normal sedan is starting to become a problem on poorly maintained back roads.

It's not the ground clearance for me, so much as the low profile tyres and fragile rims.

You cannot go wrong with the Civic bud, but as said, I would also look a bit more and rather get the VXI spec. That has all the bells and whistles. As I am sure you know by now, the Honda will not break!! Enjoy!!

+1

In fact, any Honda for that matter will serve you well for years to come. Had my Accord for almost 3 years now, not a single problem yet, and this is already an 11 year old car.

Very late, I know... I own one... The best thing I have ever driven, comfort, easy. size and can she move. Responds immediately to your every command... just keep her gearbox oil change on regular intervals.
